LTTE will ‘Glorify Terrorism’ in the UK

The British government is put to test by the LTTE operatives by holding the Hero’s Day celebration at the Excel Centre, thus violating one of the provisions of the Terrorism Act, which specifically criminalize ‘Glorifying Terrorist cause’ as a criminal act.

The leaflets, publicity in the LTTE media and campaign by the LTTE cadres now confirm that LTTE will be celebrating its Hero’s Day in London without fear of the law. Last ditch effort has been made in desperation to pull more crowds to the venue.

India must play its regional role to bring peace in Sri Lanka

The time is fast progressing for India to assert its regional authority to find a lasting solution for the plaguing political, military and terrorist crisis in Sri Lanka. India’s past direct involvement in Sri Lanka may be sour grapes for it to involve directly again. Unfortunately, the tear Drop Island is bleeding and will be bleeding profusely as the time passes if Indian foreign policy does not take a pragmatic turn.

Editorial: European Union must be vigilant

The news published in the independent Tamil media confirms disturbing development in the LTTE activities. The European Union proscribed the LTTE in May 2006. The proscription has impacted on the LTTE considerably. Since the proscription, LTTE had made amends to its activities and is taking avenues through passive sources to carry on with its activities.
