Dirty Sethu violates Court Order
LTTE’s gutter media editor Nadarajah Sethurupan alias Dirty Sethu based in Oslo, Norway is said to have violated the Court Order to pay compensations to the victims and cost of Crown Prosecution Service on the judgement entered against him in London.
Broadcasting regulator give respite to LTTE’s IBC radio
The LTTE front radio service International Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) run from London on Hotbird satellite for twenty four hours and on the airtime of medium wave Spectrum Radio escaped sanctions by the broadcasting regulator, the Office of Communication (Ofcom). Ofcom investigated the complaints registered by listeners that the said radio station broadcast songs and views to celebrate the birthday of the LTTE leader Pirabakaran on 26 November 2007. Their investigations ended after nine months of painstaking work.

Pro-LTTE temple accused of providing rough justice
In a bizarre development at a temple in Lewisham in the South East London, trustees sympathetic to the proscribed LTTE has summarily dismissed a fellow trustee for not towing the pro LTTE line. In a hurriedly called board meeting, the pro-LTTE Chairman read out pages and pages of charges against the trustee whom they opposed.

Reply to the public statement on the accusation of SLDF involvement in the TBC break-in

Kiran from London has circulated a statement in Tamil via email which has been published in the ‘Thesam’ website. In his personal statement Kiran has asserted his involvement with the SLDF. Quoting external factors he had justified that there is no reason for the SLDF to respond to the news implicating them in the burglary at the Tamil Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).

Hindu temples fund LTTE front in the UK
News reaching from sources of LTTE front British Tamil Forum (BTA) confirms LTTE sympathetic Hindu temples in the UK have provided funds for the BTA for its activities. According to the sources Shree Katpagavinayagar Temple in Walthamstow, London Sivan Kovil in Lewisham and Shree Nagapoosani Ambal Temple in Edmonton have provided about £10,000 to the BTA to carryout its pro-LTTE campaign work.
All three temples are registered Charities and according to the Charity Law providing funds for such purposes are not allowed.

The slogan of liberation has become a cheap word for the Tamil people in Sri Lanka. Time and again the Tamils have heard drum beating slogans of the government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) that they have liberated this and have liberated that from each other.

Hindu conference in crisis
The 11th London Saiva Conference hosted by The Federation of Saiva (Hindu) Temples UK is facing difficulties due to pressures from the LTTE supporting members of the Federation. The Federation of Saiva (Hindu) Temples UK is made up of five Hindu temples in London: Shree Ghanapathy Temple, London Sivan Kovil, Highgatehill Murugan Temple, Sri Kanaga Thurkai Amman Temple and Sri Rajarajeswary Amman Temple. The 11th conference of the Federation is to be held on 23 August 2008 at Shree Ganapathy temple in Wimbledon and on the 24th August 2008 at London Sivan Kovil in Lewisham.

Jail for £175,000 Sri Lankan credit card cloner
A Sri Lankan petrol station worker who cloned credit cards in a £175,000 fraud is behind bars. Sri Lankan Abdul Samad Mohamed Raik, 33, used a fake card reader to copy account details of 500 customers at the Jet station in Houghton-on-the-Hill, Leicestershire. He then passed the details to third parties abroad to make ATM withdrawals. Raik, of Leicester, admitting obtaining property by deception and was jailed for two years and nine months at Leicester Crown Court.

Last years budgetary process in Sri Lanka exposed the difficulties the government had to face to muster a simple majority to approve its Finance Bill. With extensive political manoeuvring and with the help of the ducking and diving JVP, the budget was approved by the parliament and it gave the respite of life for the present parliament for another year.
